As we continue to fight COVID-19 in Arkansas, it is more important than ever for us to wash our hands frequently, keep at least 6 feet apart from people outside our family, and mask up!
In fact, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson issued an executive order on July 16 requiring people to wear face masks statewide to combat the surge of COVID-19 cases. Several cities in the state have also issued mandates.
“This whole fight against COVID-19 is likely to get harder and not easier, and we have to meet the challenge together. Everyone must do their part,” Hutchinson said. “This is a way to enlist the support of everyone in this fight.”
With school starting, it is even more important to wear a mask. That’s why Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield continues to support Gov. Hutchinson and our community leaders in #MaskUpAR, a statewide social media campaign to encourage Arkansans to wear masks in public.
“We are really relying on everyone to help spread the word on the importance of wearing a mask,” said Alison Melson, vice president of Corporate Marketing for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. “This is a great chance for all Arkansans to be involved in a grassroots social media campaign to help get the word out.”
Join the campaign! Submit a selfie or a video of you wearing your favorite mask and tell us why you’re wearing it. Speak loudly if you are wearing your mask!
