Arkansans, of all ages, experience behavioral health conditions like anxiety or depressive disorder at rates higher than the national average. Unfortunately, many people don’t know when to seek support or are even aware there are local resources that can help.

The UAMS Health AR ConnectNow program from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) provides 24/7 evidence-based care to individuals experiencing any number of mental health issues. AR-Connect offers immediate care and can help callers recognize warning signs and explore treatment options in their local area, and a crisis line that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No referral is necessary, and insurance is not required.

Addressing Mental Health Stigma

There is often a stigma associated with seeking mental health resources or care, but fighting a panic attack, suicidal ideation or a depressive episode alone can be incredibly frightening and lead to negative behaviors like substance misuse and self-harm. The Blue & You Foundation and UAMS are committed to normalizing care, whether you are living with a mental health condition or experiencing crisis.
