A multi-disciplinary opportunity for aspiring interns
Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield offers interns an array of opportunities, ranging from public health and policy to communications and sharing information.
Kayla Hollinger is working with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program. She is a second-year graduate student working toward her master’s degree in public health from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from St. John’s University.
After graduating, Kayla wants to work in health policy, regulatory affairs and health technology.
“I plan to achieve these goals by obtaining experience in these fields and learning from those who have come before me,” she said.
Katy Reagan is from Hampton, Arkansas and is the daughter of Anne and Rocky Reagan. She is interning in Internal Operations Training and Staff Development. Katy will graduate with a degree in writing studies from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway this December. She has worked as a freelance writer with the Conway Scene blog and with the Vortex Magazine of Literature and Fine Art. Katy hopes to work full-time for Arkansas Blue Cross as a copywriter after graduating.
“I plan to participate fully in this internship program, taking all networking opportunities, learning from the supervisors and peers around me and producing great work,” Katy said. During her internship, Katy will focus on creating an online learning course with lessons designed to train staff about psychological first aid (PFA) and mental health first aid (MHFA).
She will be completing another copywriting internship in the fall and has set a personal goal of having one of her personal nonfiction essays published in a major literary journal or magazine each year.
