Jeffrey Cornejo, Josine Nyandwi and Hemilkumar Patel: Summer 2022 Interns

Healthcare information involves a large amount of data that must be protected. Jeffrey Cornejo, Josine Nyandwi and Hemilkumar Patel are interning alongside our computer scientists and software engineers to secure our data and find innovative solutions to improving healthcare for our members.

Jeffrey Cornejo a junior at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway in Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science.  He is interning in automation engineering.

“My goal after college is get a job as cyber security engineer or software engineer,” Jeffrey said. “I plan on achieving them by making sure I put in the work, learning and demonstrating the skills I have to offer.”

Jeffrey is from Brooklyn, New York, and the son of Deborah Arias and Mario Cornejo.

Josine Nyandwi

Josine Nyandwi is a senior at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in computer science. She is interning as a software engineer.

“I am looking forward to finishing up my degree in computer science and getting a job as a software engineer (DevOps API Test Automation), Josine said. “My number one area of interest is DevOps. I am looking forward to gaining an experience that will help me to secure a job of my dreams.”

Josine is from Rwanda and the daughter of Nyiramana Agathe and Munyankindi Javan.

Hemilkumar Patel is working on his master’s in computer science at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He is interning as a programmer.

“Working as a software engineer/cyber security analyst and helping the community address real-world problems are two of my career goals,” Hemilkumar said. “I am looking to attain an Information Security Analyst position within healthcare industry that can apply analytical, technical and innovation skills to support and guard organizations against security breaches.”

Hemilkumar is from Jonesboro, and the son of Raman and Jashiben Patel.

The Arkansas Blue Cross Summer Internship Program is a 10-week, full-time, paid learning experience. Interns participate in team-building activities, learn from professional coaching, receive hands-on, relevant work experience, complete special projects, participate in an assigned community service project and be involved in weekly leadership programs.
