Leah Roberts, Andrew Rowe and Darrel Henderson: Summer 2022 Interns

Information security is critically important in healthcare. Interns Leah Roberts, Andrew Rowe and Darrel Henderson have been working alongside our Information Security team to learn their cutting-edge skills for thwarting hackers and protecting our members’ information.

Leah Roberts is a graduate of Bellevue University, in Nebraska, where she studied Cybersecurity.

“I hope to find a company to establish a career in information security and hone my skills there, and eventually return to college for my master’s degree,” Leah said.

Leah is from Van Buren and the daughter of Anthony and Alisa Roberts.

Andrew Rowe

Andrew Rowe is a junior in Cybersecurity at the University of Central Arkansas.  His intern project involves automating certain security procedures to increase response time.

“After I graduate college, I plan on pursuing a career in the cybersecurity field,” Andrew said. “In order to achieve this, I chose to major in cybersecurity and got this summer internship in information security. This internship will provide me with the experience needed to decide which part of cybersecurity I would like to focus on and pursue in the future.

Andrew is from Cabot and the son of Tim and Lisa Rowe.

Darrel Henderson is a senior at the University of Arkansas-Monticello Majoring in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Cybersecurity.  His project involves reviewing company policies and procedures to verify compliance with federal regulations and security certification.

“After college I plan to move to Texas, Arkansas, or Florida to pursue a career in the cybersecurity field,” Darrel said. “I plan on doing so by networking with teammates majoring in CIS, other UAM alumni, fraternity brothers in the cybersecurity field, and people that I have met during my internship.”

Darrel is from Baton Rouge and the son of Darrel Henderson Sr. And Rivia Henderson.

The Arkansas Blue Cross Summer Internship Program is a 10-week, full-time, paid learning experience. Interns participate in team-building activities, learn from professional coaching, receive hands-on, relevant work experience, complete special projects, participate in an assigned community service project and be involved in weekly leadership programs.
