Shibani Lal, Saurabh Wagle and Sai Vivek Gorantla: Summer 2022 Interns

Data is vital to healthcare, and three of our 2022 summer interns have dedicated their careers to working with it. Shibani Lal, Saurabh Wagle and Sai Vivek Gorantla are looking deep into our data to find ways to help our members stay healthy and improve the overall healthcare experience.

Shibani Lal

Shibani Lal recently received a master’s degree in data analytics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is interning in data science.

“My professional goal is to apply my business and IT expertise to analyze and draw meaningful conclusions from data to solve complex business challenges,” Shibani said. “I want to leverage my analytical skills to turn unstructured data into insightful information and help healthcare leaders make efficient decisions based on the presented data patterns. I expect to achieve this goal through the continued professional development of my personal attributes.”

Shibani is from Little Rock and the daughter of Sami and Suman Lal.

Saurabh Wagle is a healthcare data analytics graduate student from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and is interning in DDI Provider and Program

“My professional goals after graduate school are to apply my data analytical, data science, and data visualization skills to the insurance and medical field,” Saurabh said. “I will take the initiative to apply my data analytical skills to projects related to the insurance and medical workforce in order to better understand how I can further enhance my knowledge and skills in the field of healthcare data analytics. In addition, I will continue learning new computer programming languages and computer software programs by working on certifications that will allow me to apply my knowledge using the healthcare data analytical skills critical for the insurance and medical field.”

Saurabh is from Fayetteville and the son of Aparna and Sameer Wagle.

Sai Vivek Gorantla

Sai Vivek Gorantla is pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. He is interning in data strategy.

Sai said, “I would like to utilize the skills that I have acquired through my experience, master’s and internship to solve real-world problems while working full time. Learning is a continuous process, so I will keep myself updated with the latest technological advancements.”

Sai is from India and the son of Vishweshwar Rao Gorantla and Srinuka Gorantla.

The Arkansas Blue Cross Summer Internship Program is a 10-week, full-time, paid learning experience. Interns participate in team-building activities, learn from professional coaching, receive hands-on, relevant work experience, complete special projects, participate in an assigned community service project and be involved in weekly leadership programs.
