Ty Lazzari, Luke George and Christopher Hearn: Summer 2022 Interns

The areas of Actuary and Accounting play an integral part in providing affordable healthcare at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Luke George and Ty Lazzari are interning in Actuary, where they will learn how our actuaries predict risk, create business policy and minimize costs. Christopher Hearn is interning in Accounting Services where he will learn about keeping a large corporation running efficiently.

“I believe that this internship program will not only introduce me to a new field pertinent to my career goals, but it will also help me further myself as a professional candidate for years to come,” Ty said “I understand that I cannot be a competitor in my field without working very hard but I also strive to build great connections and take opportunities when the time arises.”

Ty is from Little Rock and the son of Dana and Pete Lazzari. He is a finance senior at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Luke George is an actuarial science junior at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri.

“I hope to work for a leading insurance company as an actuary,” Luke said. “I expect to achieve my goals by continuing my education and gaining experience through internships and work.”

Luke is from Redfield, Kansas, and the son of Dan and Bernadette George.

Christopher Hearn is an accounting junior at Harding University in Searcy.

“I believe that I will learn more about private accounting and healthcare accounting during this internship,” Christopher said. “My hope is that the experience I gain here will help me in the rest of my collegiate and professional career. My current professional goal is to get a master’s degree in information systems and sit for the CPA exam.”

Christopher is from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the son of Dale and Nancy Hearn.

The Arkansas Blue Cross Summer Internship Program is a 10-week, full-time, paid learning experience. Interns participate in team-building activities, learn from professional coaching, receive hands-on, relevant work experience, complete special projects, participate in an assigned community service project and be involved in weekly leadership programs.
