You Don’t Have to Grieve Alone

Dr. Bert Price

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has increased America’s death toll while separating us from the shared rituals of funeral services and mourning we often turn to for closure when a loved one dies.

Many of us know someone who has died during the COVID-19 pandemic, either because of the virus or other medical condition. Mourning a loved one and learning to live through the grief takes time, and others can help you shoulder that burden.

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield partners with New Directions Behavioral Health because they share our value to help improve the peace of mind of our people and the communities we serve.

An emotional helpline for all

In response to the current emotional crisis in our country brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest, New Directions has a support number that’s free to the public. The number is 833-848-1764. It’s confidential and staffed by caring, experienced professionals who want to help. New Direction’s goal is to keep the number available to the public for as long as possible to support individuals who want help.

We all experience grief differently, but we don’t have to go it alone.
