Blue & You Fitness Challenge Winners Finish Strong

The 2021 Blue & You Fitness Challenge finished strong!

This year, 4,176 participants in 77 groups joined the competition. Groups from across the United States participated in the Challenge and ranged in size from 2 to 1,200 participants. Collectively, all Challenge competitors exercised for a total of 1,830,391 miles and completed 250,485 Daily Challenges during the contest. The challenge is a program of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS).

Each year, the founders of the Challenge, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) compete against each other.

For the last three years, DHS took the top prize in the Founder’s Challenge, but this year ADH claimed first place.

The 2021 Challenge got a new makeover, along with a new and improved interactive health and wellness platform, powered by Wellable, to track more easily participants’ activity and measure standings. Also, new this year was the ability to sync to wearables and access to a free library of on-demand exercise classes. The ease and access of these additions boosted challengers’ engagement tremendously. In fact, 64 percent of participants synced their wearable device.
